WHO CAN GO?

EBS students who are studying on the following programmes:
– International Business Administration (BA)
– Impactful Entrepreneurship (BA)
– Ettevõtlus ja ärijuhtimine (BA)
– International Business Administration (MA)
– Two-year MBA
– Doctoral Studies

Attention: One-year MBA students can study abroad if they extend their studies to the two-year MBA programme.

WHERE TO GO?

As a student at EBS you can study abroad in Europe and other parts of the world.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme Estonian university students may study in member countries of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom) as well as in other European countries which have joined the programme (Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein,) and the candidate country – Turkey. For more information about the Erasmus+ programme please check the website of European Commission (https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/node_en).

Starting from 2021 students have an opportunity to study in third countries not associated to the Programme (Canada, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Australia, Japan, South-Korea, China, India).

WHEN TO GO?

To study abroad, it is best to use the Mobility Window, which is the third semester for bachelor students (Ettevõtlus ja ärijuhtimine) and MA students, fifth semester for International Business Administration and Impactful Entrepreneurship programme. Studying abroad with Mobility Window means that students can choose the courses they like and the credits will be transferred.

Graduation during exchange semester is not possible. If you decide to study abroad in the last semester, please consider that your study period will be extended by a semester.

Students with Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) can only study abroad during their Mobility Window.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS?

The receiving university is not allowed to require from the student a payment of tuition fee or additional fee for registration and exams or the use of laboratory and library, but the home university of the student will usually ask a tuition fee for a period spent abroad.

In addition to regular everyday expenses, the student must also consider costs related to insurance, residence permit and transportation. Because the standard of living, expenses related to transportation and consular requirements may vary a lot between different countries, individual cost accounting is necessary for separate countries.

OTHER OPTIONS

Free mover student

In case you decide to take up studies at a university which is not a partner of EBS or you have chosen a university where the number of vacancies for exchange students is full (i.e. the number of EBS students going to the university is larger than in the agreement between the universities), you may still go as a free mover. This means that you undertake your studies in the receiving university through the Open University and therefore have to pay this university’s tuition fee. The choice of lectures and system of grade transfer is the same but it is your own responsibility to find information on the tuition fee, etc.
