DORA+ scholarship

Scholarship for foreign students (MA and PhD) in Estonian Universities – DORA+ scholarship

The purpose of supporting the learning mobility of international masters and PhD students is to increase the proportion of international master and PhD students in the Estonian higher education institutions, improve the capability of the Estonian higher education institutions to involve international students and strengthen the compliance of the doctoral studies with the principles of innovative doctoral studies.

Support is offered to foreign Master’s and Doctoral students in full-time studies until the end of the nominal time of their studies for one academic year at a time. During the period of Dora+ stipend, studies may not be financed in the framework of the projects or programmes of other sources incl EU structural funds.

Dora+ scholarship programme has ended. No new application round will be opened.

Eligibility requirements:

The grant can be awarded to a Master’s or a Doctoral student of Estonian Business School:
– who is not a resident and citizen of the Republic of Estonia and whose country of residence is not Estonia;
– who has not resided in Estonia during the last three years in total for more than one year, except for the PhD students, who have studied and completed Master´s studies in an Estonian institution of higher education during the time concerned;
– who study in degree programme at full-time study load;
– who study in nationally recognised study programmes which are offered fully in a foreign language;
– who does not receive support for their studies from other sources. The student personally confirms not receiving a scholarship from other sources;
– who study in curricula delivered in Tallinn.

Granting of a stipend

The university scholarship committee decides on the granting of the scholarship, pursuant to the following principles:

  • the committee follows the quota and budget allocated to Estonian Business School by SA Archimedes (coordinator of Dora+ scholarship);
  • the committee considers student’s academic achievements and motivation;
  • the scholarships are distributed to at least two applicants per each above mentioned programme according to the compiled ranking list;
  • the committee draws up the ranking list of students who have applied for the scholarship;
  • if the student quits his/her studies then committee can nominate the next best student in the ranking for the scholarship for the months that were not paid out.
