English language courses with APEL

APEL (Accreditation of Prior and Experiential Learning) application process for passing English language courses at EBS

APEL process

  • the student becomes familiarized with the purposes and principles of APEL;
  • the student analyses their prior experience and looks through the syllabus and ILOs of the English language courses of the programme;
  • the university/the study consultant advises the student if necessary;
  • the student compiles the self-evaluation and the application, the APEL application can be found HERE;
  • the student submits the self-evaluation and application together with appropriate documents (diplomas, certificates, job descriptions, CV, copy of the working agreement etc);
  • The APEL committee conducts an interview with the student to evaluate the oral English language proficiency;
  • the university evaluates the application, informs the student about the decision.

The most time-consuming parts of the process are the writing the self-evaluation, gathering documents and compiling the application.

Prior to submitting the application reading the guide for applicants  is highly recommended.

  • The APEL application processing fee is €50. A copy of the payment order must be sent to the coordinator together with the APEL application.
  • In case of a positive assessment decision, the APEL fee for transferring the credit points must be paid, which is calculated based on the credit point price list (50% of the credit point price of the respective programme). More information about the payment policy is available HERE.
  • In case of a negative assessment decision, the student has the right to complete the English language courses as usual (enroll in the course in MyEBS).
  • The student can only submit the APEL application once to cover all the English language courses in the respective programme.
  • The student submits the APEL application during the first month of a semester (September or February).
