{"id":6271,"date":"2021-11-30T18:45:43","date_gmt":"2021-11-30T15:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/students.ebs.ee\/?page_id=6271"},"modified":"2021-12-02T16:08:54","modified_gmt":"2021-12-02T13:08:54","slug":"graduation_capstones","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/students.ebs.ee\/et\/oppetoo\/ulikooli-lopetamine\/lopueksam\/graduation_capstones\/","title":{"rendered":"Final examination of MBA curriculum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Final examination module of MBA studies consists of four Graduation Capstone courses.<\/p>\n<p>Graduation Capstones are <strong>on the core courses<\/strong> of the MBA programme:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Corporate Finance<\/li>\n<li>Financial and Managerial Accounting<\/li>\n<li>Strategic Management and Innovation<\/li>\n<li>Managing People and Organisations<\/li>\n<li>Leadership and Ethics<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and Sales<\/li>\n<li>Managerial Economics<\/li>\n<li>Emerging Technologies for Business<\/li>\n<li>Operations and Project Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Graduation Capstone I:\u00a0<\/strong>Coaching and Practice (2021 curriculum)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>When:\u00a0<\/strong>First part is completed during\u00a0Roosta, practical part will take place throughout the spring semester\u00a0(January-June).<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><strong>What:<\/strong> Individually, you will mentor 2-3 bachelor\u2019s students who are preparing for their internship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Graduation Capstone II:\u00a0<\/strong>Management game\u00a0Dynama<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><strong>When:<\/strong>\u00a0Will take part in the second half of the spring semester\u00a02022\u00a0(March-June).<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><strong>What:<\/strong>\u00a0As a team,\u00a0you will take part in a\u00a0simulation game in which you can test all your knowledge and skills\u00a0obtained during the MBA programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Graduation Capstone III:<\/strong>\u00a0Theoretical exam<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><strong>When:\u00a0<\/strong>At the end of the spring semester 2022 (May\/June).<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><strong>What:<\/strong> Individually, you will answer multiple choice and open-ended questions about all the core courses of your studies. There will be an information session about this capstone in January 2022. The exam will be\u202fopen book but due to the time limits the materials must be well-prepared before. Students do not have time to search for the material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>a) Multiple choice quiz\u202f (50 questions, 1p each, 60 minutes)<br \/>\nb) Open-ended\u202fquestions (5 cases, 10p each 60 minutes)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Graduation Capstone IV:<\/strong>\u00a0Case study exam<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><strong>When:<\/strong>\u00a0At the end of the spring semester 2022 (May\/June).<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"7\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><strong>What:<\/strong>\u00a0Individually, you will\u00a0solve a case study of your choice\u00a0within one thematic cluster (e.g., Finance, Management, etc.). There will be an information session about this capstone in January.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">MBA1a-21 \/\/ MBA2a-20:<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">In order to graduate in spring 2022, you will have to complete all core courses and the capstone courses during that semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>MBA2a-21<span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">: <\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">In order to graduate in spring 2023, you will have to complete all the capstones by the end of that semester. We will also offer you the possibility to complete Graduation\u00a0Capstone I, III, and IV, during the spring semester of 2022 if you would like to do these earlier. However then you must understand that the semester fee for spring 2022 will be higher not to mention the study load. Graduation Capstone II can only be taken in spring semester of 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep in mind<\/strong> the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ebs.ee\/academic-regulations\/ar-academic-fraud-and-unethical-behaviour\/\">Academic Fraud<\/a> chapter from the Academic Regulations when using materials during the exam &#8211; <strong>plagiarism as well as self-plagiarism is forbidden<\/strong>. If you are using materials then do not forget to add references!<\/p>\n<p>In order to take part in the Graduation Capstones the students have to enroll to the capstone courses on the given semesters in <a href=\"https:\/\/my.ebs.ee\/en\/\">myEBS<\/a>.
